Water Use Restrictions Eased
Posted on Jun 21st, 2009
Outdoor water use may occur at any time of the day on the assigned days; however, landscape watering is discouraged between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. because of the limited effectiveness of watering during those hours.
Relaxing of the water use restrictions is a result of significant rainfall and an improved water supply. However, residents are urged to continue to conserve water to ensure greater long-term water use efficiency. Fulton County Public Works outreach staff members will continue to provide technical assistance by offering workshops and presentations on water-efficient landscaping, xeriscaping, composting, tree care and rain barrel/rain garden installation.
Although citizens now have schedules that are more convenient for outdoor water use, EPD will continue to monitor water supplies. If supplies drop and drought conditions reappear, the agency will take immediate steps to modify water use restrictions accordingly.
